Never be afraid to try something new. Remember, amateurs built the ark; professionals built the Titanic. ~Author Unknown

Josie was game. Livi was a little fearful.
Sledding the 'on the farm' way.
No great hills in sight. Use what you've got.

Thanks, Dad, for taking time out of your birthday party to make the girls' day.
They had a blast and are ready to go again!

What I missed in the photographs is the huge line of cattle following the tractor behind the fence each time dad passed by. That green tractor is associated with food for them and I'm sure they were displeased by the teasing rounds the tractor made with no delivery.

Smiles don't get any bigger!

It took some extra hands to get all the candles lit on dad's cake before they melted. Luckily, we always have plenty of help on hand.

And, once again, the birthday cake is served up with several 'blessings' from the little ones.

Happy Birthday, Dad!!

It is also a fitting time to include a short story about the other day with Livi. She came up to me the other day and gave me a great big hug saying, "That's for making me chicken nuggets for lunch instead of slop". This is a fitting story to share with my dad's birthday post because I'm sure dad is where she got this phrasing. This word in conjunction with food is a long-standing joke. 'Slop' is essentially a food group--it must be as much as I've heard that word growing up :) Love you, dad!
