Okay, so I've been thinking of the California trip and trying to find an itinerary that is a good mix of top sites we want to see, cost factors, and time. Please see the bar to the right for my initial thoughts. This is completely tweakable (is that a word? No, according to spell check).
The only reason we will need to know some details in advance is if we want to stay inside Yosemite park (which I would prefer if possible). Reservations can be made 1 year and 1 day in advance. Reservations are 10% of the room cost (non-refundable). If you believe the info online, it appears that people actually do make their reservations quite far in advance.
If you are only interested in part of the trip...say, Yosemite for example, we would be happy to alter the itinerary to put that first and then look around San Francisco at the end of the trip instead of the beginning. Rental cars could be separate and you could drive back whenever you wanted to return.
We don't want to pressure anyone to go on a vacation they don't want, but we are planning this for next year and wanted to open it up to anyone who was interested--we'd love to visit with you!
We are considering March 26-April 4 (girls spring break, would) and June 2-11 (end of school to start of summer school) as possible dates. I've heard the weather is actually better in March than June (less fog) but I know June works well for more people. Open to others but wanted to throw a couple out...Let us know what you think.

Hey Susan! The June dates would be the only ones that would work for us. The girls do not get a spring break of any length and Camryn has already said she doesn't want to miss school for vacation again - is that a dedicated student or what? Love ya! Lynn
