My Rant

How hard is it to make a bus schedule and REMOTELY stick to it???????? Jocelyn, according to her schedule, is to be back to Nisho's house by 4:15pm. She has been getting there between 4:45 and 5pm most evenings. Olivia is supposed to be picked up at 12:10 to get to school by 12:45. Monday, the bus didn't come until after 1:30--what?!? Her school is only 3 hours long and she missed 1/3 of it! She is supposed to get dropped off at 4:15 as well and didn't get to Nisho's until 5:15. Of course she was fast asleep when it finally got there. So, on Monday, she was on the bus more than she was at school. Okay, I'm done for now (unless they do it again tomorrow...)

I think Olivia's first day went well, by the way... there was a little girl that she enjoyed playing with on the playground last year and the teachers made sure they were put into the same class this year. She played with her and one of the teachers for 20 minutes during area time "baking cakes". The teacher wrote that Olivia 'talked all about it' afterward and she came home and told us all about it too. Olivia has been REALLY good this week. I think having the schedule at home has helped--she has said numerous times "I love my schedule". We review the next day's schedule with her before bedtime. One day she forgot and the next day she kind of 'freaked out' about what she should be doing so I do think it helps her to know. She hasn't even argued about school tomorrow...

Jocelyn's school seems to be going alright too. She still plays with Ava at recess even though they aren't in the same class again this year. It doesn't sound like there have been too many warnings about talking too much yet (at least from Jocelyn's viewpoint!).
