Still catching up . . . the Weekend

We really had a great Easter weekend! See below for the day-by-day scenario (this one's going to be long):

FRIDAY:

On Friday, we drove down to Cole Camp to start the weekend. Jason had the girls all packed by the time I got home (what a great guy!). We drove to Cole Camp and when we got there, Jason's mom and dad had Calgaro's Pizza ready. This is my favorite meal pizza (ever). It was pretty late by the time we drove there after work and finished eating. We visited for awhile and then it was off to bed!

SATURDAY:

Jason and his brother helped Uncle Phillip and Grandma chop wood. They were done pretty quickly and while they were gone, Minnie and I helped the girls decorate some Easter eggs. Josie and Livi had a great time dipping the eggs and seeing all the colors.

In the afternoon, I went running around to the antique stores and I found a great deal on some hobnail plates (I'm so excited). It was great to just look through all the things in the stores and spend some idle time.

That evening, Jason's mom prepared a FABULOUS meal there was a big gathering for an Easter Egg Hunt and dinner. Olivia was infatuated with Michael (Michael has autism and also has problems communicating so Olivia thought he was a perfect match for a playmate). She followed him around everywhere (including to the pond by themselves--oops). She just kept sneaking up to him and asking him about his game and his shoes and what are you doing? and see the eggs? and . . . . and . . . and . . . It was pretty cute. We were really excited to see that Olivia had NO problems warming up this weekend to any of the family (I guess seeing everyone almost 4 weekends in a row helped). She was ready to play all weekend.

SUNDAY -- HAPPY EASTER!!!

We went to St. Paul's for church and the girls really did a pretty good job (we've had more than our share of difficulty in the past). After church, we went to mom and dad's and we had fried crappie (I LOVE LOVE LOVE that stuff and was really hoping that we could eat it again--this tradition was started by my grandpa bringing it to my mom all the time for family gatherings. It was his contribution to catch all the fish so we could enjoy eating them).

We did have a BIG struggle trying to get Olivia's picture! We wanted a picture with Jason's dad and the girls, but Olivia kept playing with Maya. We wanted a picture of the four of us because that is the picture we use every year for our anniversary album. We also wanted a picture of grandkids with my mom and dad. Every time, Oliiva was either otherwise occupied or too giggly to pose with a simple smile. My favorite is the one above--what a wild girl!

The kiddos had an egg hunt and then Jason and I left the girls there because it was Spring Break (no school) and Nisho had made some travel plans for Monday and Tuesday. So, they got to spend a couple of days with my mom and dad (thanks again, mom and dad!).
